Executive Summary
The Precision Agricultural Systems and Intelligent Computing Laboratory (PASICLAB) is a state-of-the-art research and training facility of the University of the Philippines Mindanao dedicated to harnessing the power of artificial intelligence (AI) to revolutionize agriculture. We champion precision agriculture—a data-driven approach that optimizes resource use, enhances productivity, and promotes sustainability.
PASICLAB serves as a hub for research, education, and collaboration. We manage critical resources such as the UP Data Commons and the Shared Service Facilities of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Fabrication Laboratory to support cutting-edge research and development. Through AI training programs, we equip students, faculty, industry professionals, government partners, and farming communities with the skills to apply AI solutions in real-world agricultural settings.
Our laboratory leads innovative research in crop monitoring, yield prediction, pest and disease detection, and resource management. We are pioneering and expanding impactful projects such as Project DALISAI and AIDurian, creating scalable technologies that address local challenges and contribute to global food security.

Rationale for Establishing PASICLAB
Agriculture today faces unprecedented challenges that threaten food security and environmental sustainability:
Climate Change: Unpredictable weather and extreme events impact crop yields and farming systems.
Resource Scarcity: Limited arable land, water, and labor require smarter, more efficient use of inputs.
